Born in Melbourne, Adam began his dance training with Lorraine Blackburn OAM, where he studied the Cecchetti ballet syllabus obtaining Honours in all major exams. He then furthered his ballet training at The Australian Ballet School, graduating as Dux of the school with Honours. Joining the Australian Ballet, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Soloist within just two years before moving to London in 2002, having been offered a Soloist position with the world-renowned English National Ballet. Adam then became the first Australian to join the Opera National de Paris and subsequently embarked on a freelance career, travelling the world including China, Singapore, Japan, USA, France, England, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, featuring in dozens of gala performances. Adam has been a frequent Guest Principal Artist with the Melbourne Ballet Company. Throughout his outstanding international career Adam has danced most of the leading male classical repertoire including Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Cinderella, Manon, Carmen and many more. Adam has worked and performed with many of the world's leading dancers and artistic figures in ballets from renowned choreographers such as Rudolph Nureyev, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Maurice Bejart, George Balanchine, Sir Peter Wright, Jirí Kylián, William Forsythe, Jerome Robbins, Harold Lander, Nacho Duato and Christopher Wheeldon. His experience as a teacher, coach, ballet master, associate director & choreographer has led him to develop some unique techniques that help unlock dancers’ hidden potential. Adam has taught long and short term at several universities and other educational programs including: the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore (NAFA), The Australian Academy for Classical Art, Cecchetti Society & the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA). Adam is a proud patron of Melbourne Academy of Arts.

I had the privilege of tuning a Yamaha grand piano and two antique pianos for this esteemed ballet institution. During my time there, I was deeply impressed by the meticulous, earnest, and professional approach to dance instruction. Master teacher Mr. Du Jiayin's requirements for piano accompaniment and his profound mastery of music are a testament to his stature as a master of ballet education. The entire experience showcased the exemplary standard to which ballet is taught here.

The teachers are all phenomenal, with a variety of classes such as character dance, RAD exams, vaganova masterclasses, and contemporary dance throughout the week to ensure we get the best experience and teaching possible. We also get to learn numerous amounts of stunning ballet variations to show at the annual end of year performances. Highly recommend Jiayin MasterClass to anyone willing to learn ballet, they even offer adult classes as well!!

I have two children learning ballet here since 2018 for 5 years already. We live very far from the studio, 1-hour drive to get to the studio if there’s no traffic. I drive them three times per week back and forth and plan to send my third kid to learn ballet here together with her brother and sister. What affirms my belief and persistence in sending my kids to learn ballet here is: very professional artistic staff, very patient attitude towards each student, very good and timely communication with parents.Both my children enjoy the positive energy from ballet and the teachers. With highly effective learning in systematic syllabus, they both have impressive achievements from the classes they offer. They get high scores in each year’s RAD exam, and have experienced the sense of achievement from being awarded in the national competition.I also learn adult ballet while waiting for my kids. It’s a very pleasant and enjoyable moment from the busy schedule of a Mom of Three.

Tim has been learning with Jiayin MasterClass since his very first lesson at age of 5; It’s now his 12th year with our systematic ballet curriculum. He has won prizes at BTW 2023 & BTW 2024, before attaining Top 12 at YGP Australia 2025 upon granted scholarships from The Australian Ballet School, Elmurst Ballet School (UK) and Rock School of Dance (US).
